First homecoming day for mainland alumni

Since CUHK admitted undergraduate students from the mainland in 1998, more than 5,600 of them have joined the CUHK family. For the past 25 years, increasing interactions between mainland, local and overseas students on the campus have strengthened the bonds between Hong Kong and the mainland.

The CUHK Mainland Alumni Association organised the first “CUHK Mainland Alumni Homecoming Day” from 5 to 6 August as part of the celebrations of the University’s 60th anniversary. The event was aimed to update the alumni on the latest development of their alma mater and deepen their sense of belonging. It also provided an opportunity for remembering the good old days and having a taste of dormitory life again. More than 230 alumni and their family members from different cities came to take part in the reunion.

On the first day of the event, the group were arranged by the Alumni Affairs Office to go on a campus tour, revisiting the constituent colleges, the University Mall, the University Library and other landmarks.
