A culture of care and commitment

The journey of long-serving CUHK staff

13 May 2026

In today’s workplace, changing jobs every few years has become common, with professional relationships often shaped by practicality rather than personal connection. At CUHK, however, an atmosphere of warmth and humanity has remained constant, fostering a culture that encourages many to stick around for the long haul. They chose CUHK for their very first job after graduation and have remained steadfast in their roles for decades, serving the University with passion and professional excellence.

The 2025 Long Service Award Presentation Ceremony on 29 April 2026 recognised the contributions of 263 staff members. CUHK in Focus spoke with three awardees who have served for 15, 25 and 35 years, respectively. They share with us how they put down roots at CUHK, growing alongside the institution and going on an enlightening journey together.
