Council appointment and reappointment

Mr Wang Lianghong (left), a Year 2 student of the Bachelor of Social Science in Data Science and Policy Studies Programme, has been appointed by the University Council as a full-time undergraduate student member of the Council elected in accordance with Statutes 11.1(q), 11.6A(1)(a) and 11.6A(3) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance (the Ordinance), with the election result verified pursuant to Section 13 of the Regulations Governing the Election of Convocation, Staff and Student Council Members (Regulations). The appointment is for a period of one year with effect from 1 March 2026. He will cease to be a member of the Council if he ceases to meet the criteria of eligibility for election and appointment under Statute 11.1(q).

Mr Wang Geyang (right), a student in the fourth year of doctoral studies in Information Engineering, has been reappointed by the University Council as a full-time postgraduate student member of the Council elected in accordance with Statutes 11.1(r), 11.6A(1)(a) and 11.6A(3) of the Ordinance, with the election result verified pursuant to Section 13 of the Regulations.  The re-appointment is for a further period of one year with effect from 23 April 2026. He will cease to be a member of the Council if he ceases to meet the criteria of eligibility for election and appointment under Statute 11.1(r).
