Albert Chow Hing-pong appointed as Vice-President (Administration)

The University Council has approved the appointment of Mr Albert Chow Hing-pong as Vice-President (Administration) for a term of three years, to start within the first half of 2026.
Mr Chow is a seasoned academic and professional administrator. He is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and the Chartered Management Institute, and a Founder Member of the Chartered Management Institute Hong Kong Branch. Mr Chow began his career as an accounting academic before spending 30 years in organisational management in public institutions. He progressed through various roles in quality assurance, management and governance administration, and currently serves as Executive Director of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications.
Mr Chow said: “I am deeply honoured to be appointed as Vice-President (Administration) of CUHK, an internationally renowned institution of excellence. I look forward to leveraging my experience in public administration to serve the University with passion. I will work closely and in collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders to drive continuous quality enhancement to the administrative processes and services provided. An integration of the administrative functions with academic, teaching and research activities is highly favourable. This will support the University’s teaching and research mission, as well as the implementation of the CUHK Strategic Plan 2026–2030, fostering an outstanding environment for our students, staff and the entire University community.”
