Chung Chi College’s Project E Twin-Building has received two major donation pledges: HK$100 million from Dr Elizabeth K S Law and HK$50 million from the Council for World Mission/Nethersole Fund.
At the donation ceremony, Dr Elizabeth K S Law said: “This donation is not just support for campus development. We hope it will help Chung Chi College nurture a young generation with both capability and a sense of responsibility, allowing knowledge and compassion to drive society forward.”
The Reverend Dr Eric So Shing-yit, Chairman of the Council for World Mission/Nethersole Fund, hoped that students would be able to fully use the new resources to explore the unknown, with a positive impact on Hong Kong and the nation.
Dr Norman Chan Tak-lam, Chair of the Chung Chi College Board of Trustees, thanked the donors for their generous donations, saying stating that the donations would greatly support the College’s commitment to the philosophy of whole-person education and aligned with the HKSAR government strategic initiative to build Hong Kong as a “world-class campus”.
The Project E Twin-Building, located adjacent to the University MTR Station, comprises two new multifunctional buildings. The high block includes a student hostel with 300 spaces and a Digital Creative Centre; the low block includes staff quarters with 24 units and an Alumni Activity Centre. The total project cost amounts to HK$550 million. The two buildings are expected to be completed and begin operating progressively during 2026/27.
