CUHK Mooncakes warm elder hearts

23 October 2025

CUHK raised a record 2,320 CUHK Mooncakes for the elderly living alone in Sha Tin, Fo Tan, Ma On Shan, and Tai Po, spreading love and blessings for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

This year, the CUHK Care Service Team mobilised 170 volunteers comprising CUHK staff members, alumni, and students and organised three rounds of visits on 27 September and 4 October, reaching over 190 households of elderly living alone in these communities. The volunteers delivered CUHK mooncakes and shared the joy of the festival with them.

For each box of mooncakes sold, the service team would deliver a free mooncake to the elderly. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the “CUHK 60th Anniversary Artistic Talent Development Fund”.

The University extended its heartfelt gratitude to all CUHK members and friends for their tremendous support. Their contributions have added warmth, and a sense of community, to this charitable event.
