The University Council has approved the appointment of Professor Sham Mai-har (above, far left), CUHK Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Choh-Ming Li Professor of Biomedical Sciences as a Council member with effect from 11 July 2025 to 31 July 2026.

The Council also approved the appointment of three university officers. Professor Irwin King Kuo-chin (second from left), Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has been appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) on a concurrent basis for a period of two years. Professor Ko Wing-hung (second from right), Associate Professor of the School of Biomedical Sciences, has been re-appointed as University Dean of Students and will concurrently take up the new position of Associate Vice-President (Student Experience) for a period of two years. Professor Anthony So Man-cho (far right), Professor of the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, has been re-appointed as Dean of the Graduate School for three years. All three appointments will take effect from 1 August 2025.
