CUHK has delivered its strongest performance yet in two prestigious university rankings, QS and U.S. News and World Report.

QS World University Rankings

In the QS World University Rankings 2026, CUHK climbed to 32nd place globally, a four-place leap from last year and its highest position in the league table since the ranking began in 2010.

This year’s edition evaluated over 1,500 universities worldwide, placing CUHK in the top 2% globally. The University excelled across nine key indicators, including academic reputation, international faculty (scoring a perfect 100), citations per faculty (scoring 95), and faculty-student ratio.

U.S. News & World Report universities and subject rankings

CUHK continues its upward trajectory in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings, rising five places to 37th. For the third consecutive year, CUHK is ranked first in Hong Kong.

Among the 13 indicators spanning reputation, publications, and scientific excellence, CUHK stood out particularly in citation impact and academic reputation.

In the U.S. News Subject Rankings, CUHK demonstrated exceptional breadth and depth, with the following subjects making it to the top:
