Applications and nominations are now invited for the Harvard-Yenching Visiting Scholars Programme in 2026-27. This programme offers faculty members in the Humanities and Social Sciences the opportunity to undertake 10 months (from August 2026 to May 2027) of study and research at Harvard University. The Harvard-Yenching Institute (the Institute) will offer a scholarship covering  economy-class airfares for a round trip and a stipend of US$7,725 per month for 10-month residence. All full-time teaching appointees who have served at the University for at least three years (prior to 1 August 2023), and are working in the humanities and social sciences with an emphasis on culture are eligible for application.

Applicants should submit completed application forms and requisite supporting documents, with the endorsement of the Department Chairperson/Unit Head and the Faculty Dean as appropriate, to the Staff Training and Development Unit of HRO on or before 16 July 2025 (Friday) for the University’s consideration. Please note that successful applicants should apply for their own accumulated leave and academic leave (or sabbatical leave if applicable), and/or no-pay study leave to pursue the fellowship programme.
