Dreamweavers: Pursuing excellence on the road of science

CUHK’s Faculty of Science hosted “Dreamweavers – Alumni Scientist Public Lectures” on 18 November and 9 December 2023. Outstanding alumni working in different fields were invited to return to their alma mater, and shared their rich and varied careers as well as their achievements with the audience. Through this public lecture series, the Faculty hopes that everyone can pursue their dreams on the road of science and achieve outstanding achievements in their respective fields.

In her opening speech, Professor Shannon Au, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Science, thanked all alumni for their support and contributions to the Faculty, and looked forward to receiving more alumni who could also share their experience and wisdom with the public.

During the two public lectures, the audience not only learned about such diverse topics as women’s health, eye diseases, and nutritional science, but also gained a deeper understanding of biodegradable materials and materials chemistry. The speakers demonstrated different live experiments, enriching the audience’s understanding and piquing their interest in science.
