Jubilee joy on the pitch

An inter-varsity staff football invitational tournament organised by the CUHK Staff Football Association concluded successfully after five weekends of enjoyable games, which united teams from seven universities in congenial spirit.

At the final of the tournament, held at Sir Philip Haddon-Cave Sports Field on 25 November, the Polytechnic University team took the Gold Cup, winning by five goals to three against the University of Hong Kong team. The University of Science and Technology team beat the City University team 5-2 to bag the Silver Plate.

The CUHK team won the Bronze Bowl, beating the Education University team 3-0.

CUHK Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Professor Henry Wong and Professor Wong Kam-fai, chairman and vice-chairman of CU Staff Football Club, presented prizes to the winning teams.

The tournament is part of CUHK’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
